How Can I Find Someone's Email Address
With so many people connected to the Internet, correspondence via electronic mail has soared. Yet while sending email is easy, finding someone's email address could be very difficult. Here are some tips for people trying to finish this task:
1. Use Search Engines.
One good way to start finding someone's Email address is to use major search engines. For many people, Google their names might take you straight to their Email address. People, who are famous, have unique names, or leave a big "footprint" on the Internet are much more likely to be found than people

like "John Smith", in which case more work is needed.
Try more information to narrow down your search to exactly which John Smith you're trying to locate. You could include anything from the city he lives in, the place he works, the school he went to ... or whatever detail that might help narrow down the search. But even then, you're unlikely to get the right person, unless they really have an Internet presence, and your information really matches well.
2. Check Member Directories
Another way to find someone's Email address is to check member directories within MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo or other major services. There is good chance if s/he has accounts with those services and wants to be found. If his/her place of business has a directory, that might be worth a look. Similarly, if you have reason to believe that your contact might have joined any of the social networking sites such as Linked In, Orkut or others, you might check there as well.
However, for member directories to work, the person must want to be found. Even if there is such an account, s/he may elect to keep his/her information private, and searching the directory will do you no good.
3. Try the Phone Book
You can always try the phone book. All of the major phone companies have on-line phone books that include both the traditional white and yellow pages. You may not get an email address, but you may be able to locate your contact in the "real world". Once again, if they've elected to have an unlisted number, or they do not have a telephone of their own, you may be out of luck here as well.
4. Seeking help from for-pay service
If the address is really worth it, you may try some luck with for-pay services that claim to be able to find out all sorts of information about people.
5. Guess it out
This particular skill may work when you know whom s/he works for. Since many companies follow a uniform format for email addresses, you can guess at an employee's email address by mimicking the address of the contact person. If the email address of contact Mike Smith is <msmith@company.com>, there's a good chance that the email address of co-worker Lucy Lincoln will be llincoln@company.com.
